Healing for the Front Lines of Home
At Rooted Recovery Resources, we are deeply passionate about supporting our country’s military personnel and veterans. With our own families’ military backgrounds—including Gary’s thirteen years of service—we understand that the battle doesn't always end when you return home. Often, a new and different battle begins on the home front.
We believe in a multi-faceted approach to recovery that goes beyond surface-level symptoms. By providing a holistic, faith-centered environment, we help veterans uncover the root sources of their pain to find lasting healing and true freedom.
Our Commitment to You
To ensure there are no barriers to your recovery, we offer free services, workshops, and resources, including:
Peer Support: Connect with those who truly understand your journey.
Military Trauma Programs: Specialized curriculum like Reboot Trauma to navigate the unique challenges of service.
Life Skills & Boundaries: Practical tools for rebuilding a healthy, balanced life.
Community Connection: Join us for our Finding Freedom groups or veteran breakfasts to plug into a supportive local community.
Whether you are looking for a place to share your story or a roadmap to recovery, we are here to walk beside you.
The Next Chapter
Since 2024, Gary has been utilizing his GI Bill to pursue his degree while serving as the President of the Student Veterans Association (SVA). This role is a natural fit, as his true passion lies in serving those who served.
After transitioning from the military in 2008, Gary faced years of frustration attempting to access the benefits he earned. Like many veterans, the repeated denials were devastating and made the process feel insurmountable. Everything changed in 2024 when Gary met Jason, whose encouragement and guidance
finally broke through the red tape. We’ve learned firsthand that there is no shame in asking for help; in fact, it’s the first step toward freedom. Today, Gary’s work with the SVA has reignited his purpose. Through travel, networking, and the mentorship of his director, he is honing his leadership skills, gaining new confidence, and growing in ways he never thought possible. His work with the SVA serves as the ideal transition as Gary pursues his Master of Nonprofit Management. In this role, he thrives under the professional challenges set by his director and the collective support of his team. Whether navigating leadership hurdles or academic milestones, Gary approaches every task with the same discipline he honed in the military—always rising to the challenge and growing stronger through the process.
