Gary and Stacy are natives of Rhode Island. They have been married for over 30 years, and enjoy spending time with their family, which includes three children and five grandchildren.
They have both endured traumatic events in their past that left them feeling isolated and hopeless. They realized that they shared a common goal of helping others who were going through similar experiences. They became certified trauma providers and started a nonprofit organization offering free services, workshops, and resources for trauma survivors. They felt a sense of purpose and joy in their work, and their relationship grew stronger as they supported each other’s healing. Gary DuBois | Founder & President
Gary is a retired U.S. Army veteran with a distinguished career defined by service and advocacy. Currently serving as the President of the Student Veterans of America at Bristol Community College, Gary is dedicated to supporting the veteran community while completing his formal degree.
With over a decade of experience as a Chaplain and a Rhode Island Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, Gary possesses a deep understanding of spiritual and emotional restoration. His extensive technical training includes specialized certifications in Reboot Trauma, Military Trauma, and Celebrate Recovery programs. Gary’s diverse professional background—spanning service as a Military Police officer to leadership roles in alarm technology and retail management—culminated in the founding of Rooted Recovery Resources in 2022. Stacy DuBois | Executive Director
Stacy serves as the Full-Time Executive Director of Rooted Recovery Resources, where she provides strategic leadership and oversight for the organization’s mission-driven initiatives. An accomplished advocate in the field of peer support and trauma recovery, Stacy holds an Associate degree and is currently advancing her academic credentials to further her expertise and community impact.
Stacy is a Rhode Island Certified Peer Recovery Specialist and is credentialed in Whole Health Action Management (WHAM), reflecting her commitment to a holistic approach to wellness. Her professional repertoire includes specialized training in facilitating Reboot Trauma and Celebrate Recovery courses.
With a diverse career history—including service as a chaplain, educational paraprofessional, and administrative lead for non-profit organizations—Stacy brings a unique blend of operational excellence and empathetic leadership to her role. Since transitioning to the position of Director in 2023, she has been instrumental in expanding the reach and effectiveness of the resources provided by the organization.
